Free Credit Report From The Credit Bureaus

Get you free credit report from www.creditreport.com, www.freecreditreport.com, or www.freecreditreport360.com.
You want to get your free credit file once every four months. Each time you request your credit file, get it from a different bureau.
Aurora Lillo Editor of the “Best Credit Reporting Services” website — http://www.CreditReportsAndScores.biz — pointed out;
“…By the end of the year, you should have gotten a free credit file from each of the bureaus. This is important, because some financial institutions do not report to every bureau…”
Once you have received your credit report, you want to check it for accuracy. Verify that the spelling of your name, previous names, current address, previous addresses, current employer, and previous employers are correct. It is crucial you verify the credit limits available on all accounts from financial institutions.
Check that all balances are accurate. Keep in mind that the bureau may not have received an update since your last payment. The balance should not be off by more than one payment though. This is one way to make sure your identity has not be stolen. Some thieves only make small purchases that are harder to catch. If you find any errors, you will want to dispute them.
“…This can be done through a lawyer or by yourself. Use your own discretion. If you want to dispute the error yourself, you will need verification of the error and a letter to the appropriate bureau. Keep copies of all records for yourself, even after the dispute is finalized. Errors on credit reports are only one reason you want to get your free credit report…” added A. Lillo.
